Douglas Tomooka

My name is Douglas Tomooka A.K.A. Saiku Sapien. Saiku means 'craftsman' or 'artisan' in Japanese. I at least fancy myself in my own mind as being an artisan and most of the time a human. The arts are what separate us from the beasts. Without art to capture our emotions, words and deeds, we wouldn't be able to pass our culture to the generations that are to come. It always amazes me how you can actually keep a record of how you feel on a piece of paper, a piece of magnetic tape, some digital thingy, wood or stone. I have always been intrigued by hearing how artists of any media come up with their ideas. In music, a lot of times a song I listened to will have a totally different meaning than what I thought the song was actually about. I guess that's the beauty of the arts. I thought I would give a little of the back story of the songs that I have written. Hope you like the material I have composed. The music is varied from Rock, Pop, Metal, New and Old School R&B, and Progressive Rock.
